Galaxy Nexus Carrier Round-up – Will You Be Able to Get it?

Now that the Galaxy Nexus has come out and you have seen all that is has to offer, you are probably thinking two things:
- Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus look amazing!
- How do I get it?

To answer your question, we start by reviewing Samsung and Google’s event. The only piece of key evidence that was revealed, is that the Galaxy Nexus will be coming in November. Now, I know that only answers a piece of your question, but that was all that was said about the newest Nexus Prime’s actual release date. In addition, no information was provided about the price tag – but we know better. The Galaxy Nexus has showed up in different pricing systems throughout the country, including on Best Buy’s computers, Radioshack’s and even on Verizon’s. And for this – we know for a fact that it will have a starting price of $299 – on a new contract.
If you aren’t fortunate enough to be able to lock yourself in for another 2 (or 3, poor Canadians) years – and you have to buy the device outright – then you are most likely looking at a starting price of around $599 for this particularly stunning device.
Here is a list of our take on the list of carriers for the Galaxy Nexus. After all, it was deemed a device for “all carriers”.
- Verizon: Just about anybody would tell you that the Galaxy Nexus will be a Verizon phone. In addition, rumors were also tossed around about Verizon having exclusivity to the device.
- AT&T: After passing through the FCC just a little while back, the Galaxy Nexus was confirmed as a CDMA and GSM phone. Therefore, this opens up a door to AT&T. Although not confirmed yet, it looks like AT&T will be serving its customers some Ice Cream Sandwich.
- Sprint: Not many rumors have been tossed around for a Sprint Galaxy Nexus. However, there is a bit of hope. More specifically, Sprint featured the Nexus S.
- T-Mobile: After almost being bought by AT&T and not getting the iPhone 4S, T-Mobile has lost some serious ground and respect. Therefore, I don’t think we will be seeing Samsung and Google issuing their baby to T-Mobile.
- DoCoMo: DoCoMo released a statement just before the announcement of the Galaxy Nexus that stated the following: “The latest Android OS smartphone with Google and Samsung Electronics will be announced on October 19, in Hong Kong tomorrow. DoCoMo is considered to be one of earliest carriers of the Galaxy Nexus, scheduled for release in November. More later.” Therefore, there is almost no doubt that DoCoMo’s customers will be seeing the Galaxy Nexus soon, if not first.
