Google Maps 6.0 for Android smartphones updated with indoor maps

Google Maps for Android just got an update to version 6.0. Indoor maps (beta) are now available for select airports, shopping malls, and more. Currently, only some places in Japan and the US are supported. In this video, you can see Macy’s floor plans in New York City. If there are multiple floors, numbers are shown on the right. Other changes include: - Menu added to the top toolbar for easy switching between common features. - Updated home screen for Places, now with popular searches based on your location. - Option to disable automatic screen dimming for Navigation. LG Optimus T hands-on overview, Affordable Android 2.2 device from T-Mobile

I asked LG to show an overview of the LG Optimus T, an affordable Android 2.2 Froyo device coming from T-mobile. It is very similar to the Optimus S offered by Sprint. The LG Optimus T features a 3.2-inch capacitive touch-screen and 3.2MP camera with 2x digital zoom on a sleek and slim design. It will be pre-installed with a 2 GB microSD card and support for up to 32 GB of removable memory. LG Optimus T also offers customers close integration with popular Google services, such as Google Search™ (also by voice), Gmail™, Google Talk™ and Google Maps™. Using Voice Actions for Android, customers can control their Android-powered phone by speaking commands to call, text, e-mail and even find directions on a map, among other tasks. The LG Optimus T will be offered in a Burgundy or Titanium finish, and is expected to be exclusively available to T-Mobile customers this holiday season.
